Unit Focus- Word order in Questions (review) Present Simple, Present continuous
1. Introduction
Review what we learned last week, and check to make sure that I know students names.
Tell them what their homework will be for the next class.
2.  How do you ask questions?

You can either use ASI (Auxiliary, Subject, Infinitive) to form a question, or you can use QuASI (Question Word, Auxiliary, Subject, Infinitive)

Remember to conjugate to the correct subject and tense

 You can also form questions by inverting the verb and subject.
She is nice. --> Is she nice?
3.  Practice
Write a verb/Adjective/noun etc on the board, have students form a question using that verb/Adjective/noun. The students should write the sentences in their notebooks.
4. Turning answers into questions
Demonstration Show how questions are formed from answers.
use the first paragraph of Mood food,
Who is Dr. Paul Clayton?
What does Dr. Paul Clayton study?
Where is Dr. Clayton from?
Where does Dr. Clayton come from?
...
Use the text called mood food
Have the students read one paragraph at a time.
At the end of the paragraph, each student should write down a question.
At the end of the activity, each student should pick three questions, and we will discuss them as a class. 
At the end (if time) see if the students can figure out how to turn the sentances in the 'What the Experts Say' into questions.

Jeopardy: For the remainder of class (20 min+)
For rules and an easy way to play in class
Students must guess in the form of a question.

Teacher: It is the biggest animal in the world.
Student: What is a blue whale?
 Category: Random
What is canned food?
A type of food that comes in a metal cylindrical container
What are mushrooms?
These are not plants or animals. They are fungi, and grow well in dark places.
What is chocolate?
A sweet brown treat that is given on romantic days.
What is milk?
It comes from a cow, and is used to make cheese and yogurt

 Category: Fruit
What is a banana?
A long yellow fruit
What is a water melon?
It is large, and green on the outside, pink on the inside
What is a lime?
A green fruit that is very sour
What is a pomegranate?
A red or pink fruit that contains many small juicy seeds,

Category: Vegetable                  
What is a pepper?
This is a vegetable that is very spicy
What is Spinach?
A type of lettuce that is dark green, and high in iron,
What is a cucumber?
A long green vegetable
What is an onion?
A white vegetable that makes you cry when you cut it
